Thandie Newton in Talks to Join Han Solo 'Star Wars' Spinoff Movie

British actress Thandie Newton is reportedly in talks to appear in the new Star Wars spin-off movie about a young Han Solo.

Like all Star Wars projects, the movie has a veil of secrecy surrounding it but it does have Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke and Woody Harrelson on the call sheet.

Han Solo movie is happening and as the days progress we are getting more confirmations about the behind the camera and on-camera cast and crew. Variety reports that Westworld's Thandie Newton is in talks for the movie, although not too surprisingly, there's no info on what her character might be.

Newton recently earned a Golden Globe and SAG Award nomination for her role as renegade robot Maeve in hit sci-fi drama Westworld. News about Newton's possible entry into the Star Wars universe come on the heel of recent casting developments which involve Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge for another undisclosed role.

Slated for a May 25, 2018 release, the Han Solo movie will be executive produced by Lawrence Kasdan and Jason McGatlin and co-produced by Will Allegra. The role has not been revealed yet for which the studios is pursuing her but there is a chance that Newton might say yes.

Young Han Solo will be played by Alden Ehrenreich, and the rest of the cast is shaping up to be really good and full of widely known names.
