Regis Philbin Says He and Kelly Ripa Don't Speak Anymore

When Philbin left the broadcast he had been on the air for 28 years.

TV host Regis Philbin says he hasn't kept in touch with his former co-host Kelly Ripa since he made a decision to leave the show they headlined together.

Ripa joined the talk show in 2001 and co-hosted alongside Philbin for 10 years until audiences said farewell to him during his tear-filled last episode in 2011. Philbin added, "Never once did they ask me to go back [on the show]".

He told King he he thought Ripa took his leaving personally. "That was [years] ago".

"Yeah, I think so", Philbin replied.

Dolphins to release Mario Williams, Branden Albert
The Herald reports the Dolphins are also releasing defensive tackle Earl Mitchell and cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu. The Mami Dolphins released former Houston Texans defensive end Mario Williams on Thursday.

Philbin was conspicuously absent from Ripa's 15th anniversary celebration in February 2016, which drew a host of famous faces to the studio in her honor.

In a new interview with Larry King Now Wednesday, Philbin explained the reason behind the pair's rift.

When King asked if a return to hosting was in the star's future he responded it would be a matter of frequency.

Philbin, now 85, says he hasn't kept in touch with Ripa, with whom he worked alongside for 11 years. Would it be every night?

"Not really, no", said Philbin. "Every day?" he said. "But, you know, I just figured it was time to let it go". Gifford spent 15 years co-hosting with Regis before Ripa took over. "I learned a lot from her, though", Strahan said in September, according to People.
