PJ Fleck Obtains Row The Boat From Western Michigan

Gophers coach PJ Fleck earns trademark to 'Row The Boat”

The coach has continued to use the phrase at his new school, per Olsen, despite the fact that Western Michigan previously owned its rights.

"It was something that I had in the back of my mind to say, 'Hey, no matter what happens, no matter what we're going to do here, we're just going to keep rowing".

"The trademark... will be transferred to Harlan's company, Harlan Sports, sources said". "The motivational phrase, as Fleck has noted personally, is one that is highly personal and grew out of the way his family coped with the loss of his infant son".

Minnesota coach P.J. Fleck took the college football world by storm with his energetic personality and "Row The Boat" mantra at Western Michigan.

Lance Armstrong Will Face Trial of Lawsuit by US, Judge Rules
Scott, of San Francisco, said he was "delighted" with the ruling and that the finish line for Armstrong is "fast approaching". The former seven-time Tour De France victor made a bid to block the lawsuit which has today been overturned by a judge.

As part of the agreement, Fleck will fund a $10,000 scholarship which will be awarded to a Bronco football player. The Fleck Family Football Scholarship will be awarded each year beginning in fall 2017.

After negotiating between Fleck and the school, Western Michigan announced in a press release on Wednesday that the three-word mantra will be Fleck's intellectual property, which means he can use it at Minnesota or wherever he wants. And we definitely will celebrate it as we celebrate what we've gone through during coach Fleck's tenure. Over the course of 4 years, the Broncos football program built itself up to the 2016 team that held a 13-0 season record, won the Mid-American Conference championship and made a New Year's Cotton Bowl appearance against the University of Wisconsin. Minnesota can use and market the phrase to death as long as Fleck is employed by the U, and if/when Fleck moves along, the trademark will move with him and the U will need to stop using the phrase.

The gift is in addition to an earlier $50,000 commitment from Fleck.
