Michigan State Gymnastics Coach Resigns Amid Sexual Assault Scandal

2nd woman: Michigan State coach knew of sex assaults by doctor

A plaintiff identified in the motion as Jane IMSU Doe, a participant in Spartan youth gymnastics, alleges that she refused treatment from Nassar, but he held her down and "performed the "procedure" against (her) will".

Hollis explained to Klages that she was suspended because of what he had learned about her September 12 meeting with her gymnasts.

Two women say they told Coach Klages 20 years ago that Nassar's "treatment" included penetrating them anally and vaginally with his fingers.

Hollis says in this letter that Klages presided over a team meeting September 12, 2016 created to alert student athletes about the pending allegations against Nassar and give them resources.

Bobryk's statement says that Klages is "deeply disturbed" by the allegations about Nassar.

Two women have filed court documents claiming they told Klages about Nassar's alleged assaults back in the 1990s.

Royals sign Travis Wood to a 2-year deal
But signing Wood gives them some flexibility; his bullpen history means he could provide important relief innings. Wood will be reunited with two other members of last year's Cubs championship team in Kansas City .

A second woman says that the Michigan State women's gymnastics coach was aware of complaints of assault by a sports doctor who treated female athletes.

Klages is retiring "out of respect to the university and the gymnastics program".

Nassar has pleaded not guilty and denied the assault allegations by female athletes in MI and elsewhere. Several of those lawsuits also name USA Gymnastics as a co-defendant.

Klages, who has not responded to numerous requests for comment from 6 News, spoke out for the first time today through an attorney, and seems to deny the allegations in the lawsuits. Aside from civil lawsuits in MI and elsewhere, he's criminally charged with assaulting a girl at his Lansing-area home and possessing child pornography. Nassar faces state charges for sexually assaulting a patient, federal charges for child pornography, and was sacked by MSU in late 2016 after questions about his conduct.

Michigan State athletic director Mark Hollis released a letter penned to Klages concerning their Monday meeting and her employment with the University. The MSU gymnastics team members and coaching staff have been her top priority for her entire career.

Nassar faces three first-degree criminal sexual conduct charges in Ingham County and three federal charges related to possessing, obtaining or destroying child pornography images or videos. "Had she ever received any information to cast doubt on the appropriateness of that trust in Dr. Nassar, she would have reacted immediately to protect her gymnasts", Bobryk said.
