FBI Arrests Man Planning 'Dylann Roof Style' Killings

Benjamin Thomas Samuel McDowell

It was reported Wednesday (Feb. 15), that white supremacist, Benjamin Thomas Samuel McDowell, was apprehended by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for planning a massacre at a synagogue in SC. He is an ex-convict who built bonds with white supremacists while serving prison sentences for several offenses, the complaint says.

In December 2016 and January 2017, McDowell posted anti-sematic comments on his Facebook page, which in one case seemed to target a Synagogue, according to the report.

In an online rant three weeks later, he stated that Jews are parts of a plan to wipe out the Caucasian race.

"All they wanne (sic) do is stay loaded on drugs the Jews put here to destroy white man and they feast on the drugs. they should be Feasting on the enemy that stole their Heritage and their bloodline and trying to run us off of this Earth", McDowell wrote. You can post pictures of f****** Viking and swords all the s*** you want to post if you ain't got the heart to fight for Yahweh like Dylann Roof did you need to shut the f*** up.

A review of Facebook instant messenger revealed that the following day, McDowell requested an "iron", which is a code word for gun, the complaint states.

"I seen what Dylann Roof did, and in my heart I reckon I got a little bit of hatred".

McDowell, 29, allegedly told the agent that he was inspired by Dylann Roof, who was sentenced to death last month for the killings at the Charleston church in 2015, and that he wanted to commit a "big scale" attack and write on the wall of the building "In the spirit of Dylann Roof".

The white supremacist was busted when he sought to buy a gun from an undercover Federal Bureau of Investigation agent at a local motel.

Later that same day, agents saw McDowell holding a bag in the parking lot of the Hampton Inn in Myrtle Beach, and he was arrested and searched, the document states.

He appeared in federal court on a charge of felon in possession of a firearm or ammunition.

The affidavit said the two met as planned and the agent provided McDowell the handgun, which had its firing pin shaved down as to make it inoperative. A preliminary and detention hearing is scheduled for February 21. He is being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center where he is awaiting a preliminary court appearance on Tuesday.
