Cubs' Kris Bryant Pranked By Greg Maddux

Greg Maddux left and Kris Bryant

Bryant, a player for the Chicago Cubs, was shooting a Red Bull baseball workout video. Maddux threw nasty curveballs and when Bryant would watch one go by through the zone, Maddux would shrug and go "that was a strike".

That's right, the sound guy was Maddux, who surprised Bryant with an array of breaking balls and a competitive fire saved for someone with the nickname "Mad Dog".

During spring training in 2016, Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant pranked a community college baseball team in Mesa, Ariz., by acting like star transfer "Roy from Europe". But when the original batting practice pitcher suddenly had to leave, the "sound guy" offered to help. Bryant's reaction to the pitches and how good they were is great but not as great as when he realizes just who this sound guy really is.

But Bryant didn't know it was Maddux at the time. The scraggly-looking staffer requested it be made out to "Greg Maddux'" prompting Bryant to flip the bat in disbelief.

Maddux is now the pitching coach for the UNLV baseball team.
