Dodge Challenger SRT Demon Will Haunt New York

There can be all sorts of theories derived from that quote, but if you do any drag racing, you will know that a tenth of a second is generally about a car-lengths lead at the end of the quarter mile, so it could be surmised that the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is the long-rumored Mopar muscle auto built for even greater drag strip dominance. The company promises the model will be even more extreme than the Hellcat. For the 2017 model year, the Dodge brand lineup features the 25th anniversary Viper, Durango, Grand Caravan, Journey, Charger and Challenger, including the new Charger Daytona and Challenger T/A, as well as the 707-horsepower Challenger SRT Hellcat, the most powerful and fastest muscle vehicle ever and the Charger SRT Hellcat, the quickest, fastest and most powerful sedan in the world.

If Dodge is indeed positioning the Demon as the "next" Hellcat, it's certainly got its work cut out for it, as the Hellcat has a pretty fantastic reputation among auto enthusiasts.

But Kuniskis said the Demon will be more powerful than the Hellcat models, which are powered by a 6.8-liter, V-8 engine that pumps out 707 horsepower. However, it was mentioned that a teaser video has been released by the automaker where a horned demon baring its fangs.

Finally, a countdown clock on that website will keep viewers posted as to when the next 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon video will drop - with the final video being published on the day that the new Demon meets the world in April.
